What is Kyngervi ?

Kyngervi is a double-blind peer reviewed journal run by students, for students to showcase their work. Our focus is on Viking and Medieval Scandinavia, broadly relating to explorations of gender, but we also accept papers focusing on “the Other” in the Norse world, bringing the marginalised into the forefront of study, rather than remaining peripheral. Additionally we accept articles centring around race, disability, human/animal hybrid studies, and any related themes. Kyngervi is interdisciplinary, and therefore accepts articles from any relevant field, including but not limited to History, Literature, Archaeology, History of Religion, Reception Studies, and Art History.

Kyngervi is an extension of the Norse Queer and Gender Studies Student Network, a support network for students to share questions, advice, reading suggestions, and Calls for Papers.
